Our Reform Beginners class is offered several times a week and is perfect for anyone new to the reformer, managing an injury, or simply looking for a slower-paced session. In this class, we’ll cover the basics of using the reformer and springs, focusing on foundational Pilates exercises that form the core of the practice. Our approach leans toward a more classical style, allowing everyone to build confidence and comfort with the reformer before moving into more advanced classes. This class is not required for those who are new to Pilates though. It is only for those who want to see how the reformer works before stepping into a full Reformer Class.

Pilates is a fantastic workout for everyone! However, there are many styles, and it’s important to find a studio that matches your needs.
Gentle Reformer, Mat Pilates, or Private Sessions: These are ideal if you’re new to Pilates, have injuries, or prefer a slower pace. Smaller studios often offer a variety of apparatus like the chair, Cadillac, and spine corrector.
Athletic Reformer Classes: If you’re looking for an athletic, challenging Reformer class with a lively flow, you’ve come to the right place! Our classes are dynamic, set to upbeat music, and designed to push you. Expect moves like lunges on the Reformer and planks in nearly every class.
If you’re uncertain about the best fit for you, feel free to reach out – we’re here to help guide you to the right studio, even if it’s not ours!

The Reformer was originally created by Joseph Pilates in 1946. While it has evolved, it remains a central piece of Pilates equipment. It consists of a frame with springs to adjust resistance, a footbar, a padded carriage that glides along tracks, and straps with hand and foot loops. Reformer exercises use spring resistance to strengthen and elongate muscles, improve balance, and enhance range of motion in the joints.

For most people, we recommend starting with our Reformer FLOW class, suitable for all levels. This class includes modifications, progressions, and options for different springs and props. If you have significant physical limitations, our Reformer Beginners class may be a better fit, with slower pacing and a thorough introduction to the equipment.
